Health education is embedded in the overall curriculum with emphasis in the physical education and science curricula. The Lower School provides basic information about human development for fourth and fifth grade students, who meet with the school nurse and members of the physical education department to discuss puberty. An open and trusting relationship between children and teachers encourages communication about all health issues. Science classes provide information about animal, plant and insect reproduction as they relate to life-cycle studies.
