CERAMICS(10th, 11th, 12th – 2/3 cr./ 2 trimesters) Offered during both the fall & winter trimesters. *Offered every year.

This course is structured as an introduction to ceramics. Students will learn the basics of clay construction as they produce works using the techniques of pinch, coil and slab building with clay. The proper use of tools and materials will be intertwined with an examination of the role of ceramics in a variety of cultures. Trips to galleries and museums on Long Island and/orNew York Citymay be included.
