 Advanced Portfolio

ADVANCED PORTFOLIO(10th, 11th, 12th - 1 cr./ 3 trimesters) *Offered every year.Prerequisite: Studio Art or the equivalent if a student is new to the school. Students who are serious about pursuing art as a major in college should enroll in Studio Art as a sophomore because many schools want to see student portfolios at the end of their junior year. This decision would allow students to take Advanced Studio as a junior in preparation for this type of review.

To be given consideration for enrolling in Advanced Portfolio, students should submit a completed application (which is available from theArtDepartment) along with a portfolio of works for theArtDepartmentto review in advance. Both the application and portfolio must be delivered by mid-March. The instructor, in conjunction with the department as a whole, will decide if a student is eligible for this course. It is assumed that the student’s desire to work will reflect the intensity of a serious college-level art student. This course will strive to help the student to develop an art portfolio that meets college-level art requirements.
