Extra Credit Assignment
Choose a popular film which reflects an era of, or event in history. Write an essay in which you analyze the film in terms of its historical accuracy. DO NOT write a paper in which you summarize the movie, instead reflect upon how accurately or inaccurately it portrays the era or event.

Some ideas for how to conduct the paper:

You may refer to specific scenes and discuss their likeliness of actually having happened.
You may discuss the cinematography in terms of why the director may have chosen to shoot the film in the way that he did and what message he is trying to promote about the event.
You may discuss the dialect, costumes and settings in terms of how accurately they reflect life in that era.
You may discuss the important details of the historical event that are omitted from the movie.

Back your research with evidence from the text or class notes. Any additional research must be cited.
