Assignments
4/10
Final draft of your close reading paper is due on Monday 4/16.

4/12
Bring journals in tomorrow so I can check them.
Look at 3.4.220-260.  Start thinking about choices you may want to make while doing this scene.
New Journals!

2/3
Find a picture in your house. It can be a family photo, a painting, or any kind of picture. Describe what's going on it.  Write about a memory that the picture makes you think of.

2/10
Describe what you would do on a perfect Saturday.  You can make it a whole weekend if you want.

Thursday 2/16 (School is closed on 2/17)
What do you want to be when you grow up? Why? How long have you wanted to do that? If you don't have anything you want to be right now, what did you want to be when you were a kid?  When did that change and why?

2/24
Talk about the class you are doing the best in.  What do you like about it? Why are you doing so well? Have you always done well in that class? Then write about the class you are doing the worst in.  Why are doing poorly? How do you feel about the class? Do you want to do better in it? How do you plan on fixing your grade?

3/2
Pick something you own that has a special significance to you. This can be a good luck charm, something that's been in your family, a religious symbol, a trophy, or anything that's important to you.  Describe it and explain why you care about.

3/9
Read a magazine article.  Spend the first two pages summarizing it.  Write one page responding to it.

3/30
If it were up to you, what would you change about Portledge? How would you improve it? What would you add? What would you get rid of?

 4/6
Write about somebody who has had a positive impact on your life.  This can be someone who has influenced, inspired, or otherwise affected you.  You don't have to know them in real life.
