Monday, May 14
Outline of essay onOthello– typed and printed for class – that must include the following:
èThesis statement that is customized to your particular paper topic – i.e. NOT “Othello is a tragic hero because he is of high status, has a tragic flaw, and experiences a moment of recognition.”
èTopic sentences for each body paragraph. Remember that a topic sentence is the point you are going to argue within the paragraph, not a plot tag.
èTwo cited quotations for each body paragraph and notes on the points you will analyze.
èA plan for the conclusion you will draw from the essay.
Remember, an outline is a plan for writing; that plan might change while you are writing.
