Portledge School held its annual Middle School play presented by sixth through eighth graders. This year they performed “The Power Broker: The Shocking Adventure of General Electrick…the Brightest Man on Earth!,” written and directed by Robert Previto. The actors played their parts so well, keeping the audience in engaged throughout the two performances.
Cast members included Kit Barcellos ’16 who played The Power Broker and Chris Buzzetta ’18, who was General Electrick. Molly Mugtree was played byDiana Lee ’16 while Jonathan Reisman ’16 was Mowgli Mugtree. Serra Sozen ’18 was AC and Patrice Narasimhan ’16 was DC. Giuliana Salamone ’18 portrayed Static and Marco Pagliara ’18 was Winston. Shorty the Shopkeeper was played by Joshua Flowers ’16. Liana Arceri ’16, Derek Binger ’18 and Amberlin Mott ’18 were busy throughout the show as the chorus, rioters and lawyers. The Announcer was Tiffany Roberts ’16.
The production staff included Nicole Arceri ’16 as Stage Manager and Ally Weber ’15 as Assistant Director. Guest musician was Kristie Kelly ’13 on trumpet. Technical Crew members were Ben Fortgang ’12 – soundboard operator, Nick Lobley – sound director, Sam Melman ’12 – lighting and sound consultant and TJ Roberts ’12 – lighting director. Patricia Hambrook, English teacher and theater coordinator, designed the scenery and costumes.
