Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.
It was an exciting end of the year. The Lower School had their holiday play, the Middle and Upper Schools had their art shows and winter concerts. I was truly impressed, and I am already looking forward to the next year’s performances!
Playing in the snow (if it snows!), having conversations/exchanging thoughts with your loved ones or just sitting in front of a fireplace with family or friends are the most valuable moments you can experience in this modern world. Teaching this to your children is supportive of the lesson we learned during the discussion at the Portledge book club. Every step matters when raising an adult. New Years is also about making a fresh start and creating good habits.
There will be several important events scheduled for 2019; the first Parents Association meeting is on January 15th at 8:30 in Bahnik Hall, followed by a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration with a Special Parent Program and the final PA meeting of the school year is scheduled for May 14th.
The annual Portledge Benefit, which is one of our most important fundraising events, is on Friday, March 29th. There is a new venue and an exciting format for the event this year and you certainly don’t want to miss it! You will want to attend this event to support Portledge and enjoy time with the Portledge community. Finally, mark your calendars for the graduation week celebrations that are scheduled from June 10th through 14th.
Lastly, I find that we are truly blessed to raise our children in this wonderful community, and in the presence of so many caring teachers and staff. Thank you to all of them.
Wishing you all a good start to 2019 and hope to see you at the next PA meeting.
