6th Grade Theater Club

6th Grade Theater Club is a laboratory-based club in which students explore their imaginative capacity in a safe environment where mistakes are necessary and creativity thrives. Beginning with theatre games to warm up, each club meeting will teach students to take risks and push aside normal fears of performing in front of others. Finding comfort in performance is the goal (making sure all students recognize that it takes time and experience to truly feel at home on stage). Pair scene work will eventually lead to larger group scenes. Memorization tools will be taught as will stage directions and what a director expects from an actor. Our work together will culminate in a small production of scenes for parents and friends.
