Portledge Varsity Boys Tennis team captures 3rd consecutive PSAA Championship

The Varsity Boys Tennis team earned the 2018 PSAA Championship title after defeating Avenues: The World School in a nail-biting 3-2 win on May 17, 2018.
The teams were tied 2-2, with the championship title coming down to the first doubles team, consisting of Aaron Vinsky ‘19 and Luka Markovic ‘21. After dropping the first set, Vinsky ‘19 and Markovic ‘21 rallied back to capture the final two sets with the whole team cheering them on from the sidelines. Markovic ‘21 earned Playoff MVP for his stellar play in the Championship match. This is the third consecutive PSAA Championship for the Portledge Varsity Boys Tennis team who has been led by the great coaching of PSAA Coach of the Year, Chris Corby and his assistant Alex Alcantara. Winning the championship capped off their thrilling undefeated regular season. Throughout the season, singles players Alex Wernink ‘18, Oliver Worth ‘20, and Alex Vinsky ‘21 were lights-out dominant.
