Portledge in the Now.

2019 Boys Opening Day Golf Match vs Chaminade

On a bright, freezing spring day, Portledge boys golf battled the power house Chaminade through the frigid weather. The boys could barely feel their hands. There were many close matches, with great attitudes and lots of fight in each shot to battle until the last putt dropped.
Sebastian Tate tied his match, giving Portledge a half point. Tanner Flood’s short game was on fire. He had 2-one putts, only 1-three putt, and all the rest two putts, giving him bragging rights in being medalist for the Panthers with a 46. Junior, George Anderson, played in the number 1 position and played solid. He carded a 50, while his playing partner, Reed Rosen had a 54. Making his freshman debut, Carter Biondi, rallied after a slightly rocky first few holes. He settled in and came in with a very respectable start to his Portledge career. Ross Klein produced some excellent shots with the gallery watching and finished strong as well.
The next match is Monday, up in the Bronx at Moshulu and the boys will be ready to compete.
