I am honored to introduce myself as the new President of the Alumni Council. As a member of the Class of 2008, I have been a dedicated member of our alumni community for more than 15 years, as a class agent and a participant in alumni events in New York and California.
I want to thank Eve Shapiro ’13 for her leadership as President of the Alumni Council over the past three years. Eve’s commitment has been instrumental in strengthening our alumni network and bringing more of us together. I would also like to thank all the council members who have concluded their service this year. Their dedication has helped shape our alumni programming, enhance communication with the school, and expand opportunities for alumni of all ages to reconnect and give back. I am deeply grateful for the foundation they have built.
I look forward to working with the new members of the Alumni Council and collaborating with the broader alumni network to strengthen the bonds between alumni and the school, support current students, and celebrate our accomplishments. Whether you’re local, living across the country, or worldwide, there will be opportunities to get involved through events, class notes, speaker series, and more.
In the near future, I hope to meet many more of you—whether at our NYC gatherings, Founders Day celebration, or other events. No matter where life has taken you since Portledge, know that this community remains a place where you are always welcome. I’m excited to continue building a stronger, more connected alumni community together.
With gratitude,
Miyuki Miyagi ’08 Alumni Council President
