Portledge in the Now.

Match at Moshulu

On the first beautiful day of the Spring, with the temperature at a comfortable 68 degrees, the Varsity Boys Golf team traveled to the gorgeous Moshulu Golf Course in the Bronx to take on Trevor Day School.  Portledge had a few firsts including Demetri Passelis ‘23 playing in his first official match, and coming out with a “W”! In addition senior Cole Balacek also carded his first official “W”!

Payne Plum ‘23 faced a tough opponent who birdied 5 out of the last 6 holes to finish 4 under for the match. Plum battled hard and was commended for his dedication and strong finish.

George Anderson ‘20 was our medalist and continued his solid golf play thus far, scoring a 42. Sebastian Tate ‘23 is also playing consistently, finishing the day with a 43, a great improvement from last season. Carter Biondi ‘22 is settling into high school golf in just his second match. He will continue to reach his potential and the coaching staff is confident he will capture his first “W” soon!

The team travels to Old Westbury next to take on another powerhouse, Brunswick School.
