Portledge in the Now.

First Match of 2018 Season

Friday, April 6th, kicked off the 2018 golf season with a match vs. Columbia Prep in the Bronx at Moshulu Golf Club.  It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon, espite the dreary weather we have been experiencing.

The team was lead by senior, captain, Andrew Herzig. He was medalist for the day with a super round of 36. Herzig '18 had an amazing par save on the 9th hole. His approach shot ended up on the green and he one-putted from about 15-feet away to beat his opponent by 1 shot.

Middle School teammates, Payne Plum and Sebastian Tate, each shot a solid 43, winning their first official matches for Portledge. Well done! Ross Klein '21 won his first match of the season with a score of 46.

John Zhang '19, Sallie Belle Moore '21 and Liam Pharr '20 will be looking for a little fun revenge when we see Columbia Prep again at the PSAA Championships in May.

Overall great showing by the entire team and great way to kick off the season! Well done Panthers!
