Portledge in the Now.

AP Chemistry

Last week, AP chemistry students built models of simple molecules using balloons. As part of our unit on Molecular and Ionic Compound Structure and Properties, students modeled the different VSEPR theory molecular geometries with balloons of two sizes (smaller bonding electron pairs and larger nonbonding pairs). This lab helps students better visualize simple molecules' shapes and bond angles.
