LIAAIS Play Day Recap

The Portledge Middle School Cross Country team travelled to Buckley Country Day School for their LIAAIS Play Day this year. The student-athletes were very excited to show off their running ability and how they have improved so far this year. Runners in fifth and sixth grade ran a 1-mile loop, while runners in the seventh and eighth grade ran a 1.5-mile loop. Stephen Lohan ‘22 came in first place in the seventh and eighth grade race. Overall Portledge came in second place for the day. All of the players were committed to finishing the race, cheered on their teammates, and were very thankful to the Buckley coach for hosting their Play Day, showing great sportsmanship all around. Most importantly, all of our athletes left the race smiling.
