Portledge in the Now.

9th Grade Blairstown Trip

On Wednesday, September 13th the entire 9th grade class will be taking a three day, two night trip to the Princeton Blairstown Center in Blairstown, NJ. The bus will depart campus on Wednesday, September 13th at 8:30 a.m. and will return to campus at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday September 15th. Classes will not be held at Portledge for the 9th graders during those 3 days.

The Princeton-Blairstown Center provides youth developmental experiential educational programs through low ropes courses and team building exercises. Students will sleep in cabins with their classmates and chaperones and will be responsible for setting up prior to and washing dishes after all meals. This trip has been remembered as a highlight of the Portledge Upper School experience by our graduating seniors.

In addition to the faculty chaperones, a nurse will accompany the trip at all times.
Students should pack clothes and equipment according to the recommended packing list.

Please print and sign the three permission slips (Portledge Permission Slip, PBC Release and Assumption of Risk slip, and PBC Health Information Form). If your child takes daily medication, you must also fill out the Portledge Medication Permission Request Form. If we do not currently have Doctor’s Orders on file for the daily medication, a physician must fill out the form as well. You or your child can return these forms to me via hard copy or email by Friday September 8th.

If you have any questions, or require copies of the forms, prviously sent out via email, please do not hesitate to contact Anthony Bruno at 516-750-3119 or abruno@portledge.org.
