Portledge in the Now.

Autism and Neurodiversity Acceptance Month

Today, we celebrated the upcoming Autism and Neurodiversity Acceptance Month by welcoming representatives from the Luv Michael organization.
Luv Michael is committed to providing meaningful employment and residential living for autistic adults, helping them lead lives of purpose and dignity.

During Community Time, Luv Michael team members presented to Upper School students about their mission, service learning program, and first-hand experiences from the “Granologists” working in the bakeries. Following the presentation, a group of Upper School students has lunch with the Luv Michael team to learn more about how our two communities can collaborate.

The Luv Michael team also visited with fifth graders in the Lower School on neurodiversity awareness and building empathy before meeting with a group of Middle School students for a more age-appropriate and personalized approach.

Thank you to the team at Luv Michael for a meaningful day. We look forward to a continued partnership!
