Middle & Upper School Schedule 2023-2024

The school day schedule is designed to provide ample time for academic and classroom instruction while also finding time for students to replenish and refocus their energies throughout the day. With that in mind, we are excited to announce the following schedule enhancements as we plan for the 2023-2024 school year.
  • The inclusion of community time and conference time were largely met with enthusiasm in both MS and US. Community and Conference time are at the heart of the schedule, but the larger structure will remain in place.
  • We will still be on a five-day rotation, with the days of the week being steady in terms of class rotations.
  • We've increased advisory time at the Upper School in response to feedback.
  • In response to feedback, we've increased the amount of time that students spend in scheduled lunch periods at both MS and US.
  • We've introduced passing time around some of the non-academic periods of the day to ensure that students can get to and from all of their obligations in due course.
  • Next year for athletics in Middle School, students will spend their in-school-day designated gym periods practicing with their athletic teams. The only after-school obligations for Middle School athletics will therefore be interscholastic competitions.
  • We've introduced a few new and exciting offerings at both the MS and the US in terms of programming.

      • IB Biology
We will share a more in-depth overview of the schedule changes with the beginning-of-year information and forms sent in mid-August.
