Lower School World Day: Exploring the World Together

Our Lower School students recently celebrated World Day, a special day that brought the entire community together to explore global cultures, traditions, and learning in a hands-on, creative way.

This year’s theme was sustainability, and students, families, and friends “traveled” around the world, visiting Costa Rica, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Madagascar, through interactive stations that blended academics, the arts, and cultural exploration. Along the way, they discovered new customs, practiced traditional songs, and engaged in creative projects inspired by each country’s approach to caring for the environment. They also learned from our Kindergarten park rangers, gaining a glimpse into conservation and stewardship. Families and friends experienced the projects and performances firsthand, celebrating the creativity, discoveries, and sustainable practices of the Lower School community.

World Day at Portledge was a celebration of community, culture, and learning together, giving students a chance to share their knowledge and creativity while connecting with family, friends, and classmates.
