Sunrise Day Camp

This inspiring Senior Project partnered with Sunrise Day Camp to bring joy and comfort to pediatric cancer patients navigating challenging hospital stays. Driven by a mission to spread kindness, the project engaged Portledge Lower School students in crafting heartfelt, meaningful messages. By carefully guiding the younger children to move beyond simple cards to deeply thoughtful drawings, the initiative successfully fostered a widespread culture of encouragement and empathy. Through incredible organization, flexibility, and dedication, the project ultimately delivered over 200 handmade cards to brighten the days of children fighting illnesses. Celebrating this massive success, faculty advisor Ms. Lawn shared, "The two of you are headed places in life: you are excellent communicators; you are organized; you think ahead to anticipate possible problems; you take full ownership of your work, and you have a plan! This was one of the most well-run Senior Projects I have ever been a part of over the last 11 years, and you should feel proud."
