Portledge in the Now.

Sustainable Style at Portledge

By: Kate B. '27
The Sustainable Business Club brought the Portledge community together and hosted a pop-up thrift event this Spring.

As the semester was nearing its end, it was the perfect time for students to clean out their closets and donate gently used items they have outgrown or don't wear anymore, while reducing waste.

Students from the middle and upper school swung by to shop for “new” finds, all generously donated by students in the Portledge community. The event was a success as they recirculated over 100 items, keeping them out of landfills and giving clothes a new life!

All remaining items and proceeds will be donated to local organizations, including a women’s shelter and food pantry.

The event showed how small choices, like choosing secondhand, can make a difference. Thanks for supporting campus sustainability at our thrift pop-up!
