At Portledge, I feel supported both academically and personally. The small classes and close relationships with teachers give me the confidence to challenge myself, explore my interests, and ask for help when I need it. The Portledge Pillars are also an important part of that experience, reminding me to act with kindness, live with honor, pursue my goals with purpose, and respect others' perspectives. I’m a credentialed reporter covering the NY Jets and Brooklyn Nets, with a passion for sports media. The Jets website I write for reaches approx. 700,000 readers each month. I’ve built and hosted Jets and Nets podcasts featuring other reporters and current and former players. At Portledge, I play Varsity Baseball.

Because Portledge is a smaller school, I’ve been able to form meaningful connections with my teachers and classmates and feel supported both in and outside the classroom. I’ve also had opportunities to explore new interests through academics, athletics, clubs, and experiences beyond school. The Portledge Pillars guide how I approach those relationships and opportunities each day: kindness and respect remind me to look out for others, honor encourages me to do the right thing even when no one is watching, and purpose gives me the motivation to keep growing and moving forward.
